Dissection (Updated 2/21/10)

"Dissection is usually the process of disassembling and observing something to determine its internal structure and as an aid to discerning the functions and relationships of its components."  (Also, just plain analysis.)

Bear with me here.  I put the definition above because there are more than a few pieces to the puzzle-picture I want to draw.

I'll continue on this later, but for now, you all know that one of Cody's most persistent pursuers is @danielspengies.  You may also know there is a fake account called @danielspengles.  Notice the "Les" rather than "Ies" at the end.  The real danielspengies tried changing his background and picture, but the fake danielspengles would quickly copy everything so that the page looked identical.  Most people missed that tiny difference of the "L".

Here are two screencaps:  one of the real @danielspengies page, and one of the fake @danielspengles page.  Fake @danielspengles has 556 tweets as of right now.

Fake:

I'm putting up a widget of the fake @danielspengles stream.  If the tweets start getting deleted or if the account is deleted either shortly after I've posted this, or after I've finished explaining my theory, the chances are very high that Cody is behind this fake account.

Why does that matter?  For a few reasons, including the devious nature of the types of tweets that come out of this account, and the hypocrisy involved.  I'll go into the various reasons later.

Updated 2/21/10

I've decided to not go as far into this as I had intended, mostly because other people would get drawn into it and they probably just want to move on.  But the fake @danielspengLes account is still active and is still hot on the real @danielspengies trail.  New background went up as soon as the real account's changed, and it's now tweeting again (meaning copying the real account and also twisting the real tweets to mislead others).

This fake @danielspengLes account is an Impersonation account.  Twitter's policy is to remove them right away.

I've asked quite a few heavy Twitter users and none of them have seen an account that's this precisely duplicated, let alone be allowed to stay active for more than a few hours once they're reported.  This account has been up for almost two weeks, and it was reported shortly after it started tweeting.  That usually only happens when the person behind the account has some kind of "influence" (notice how I keep using those kinds of words?) with Twitter.  But it could just be a mistake, and the real @danielspengies should report it again.

The reason I'm convinced that either Cody herself is behind this account, or she knows exactly who is, is because Cody can't NOT respond to people who taunt her - it wouldn't matter whether it was a fake, it would drive her crazy.  And knowing it was a fake where she would never "win" or pwn it, SHE would start reporting it for harassing her.  Yet this account has been tweeting her name and taunting her plenty, but she hasn't responded to or about it once.  I've been doing searches regularly since the fake account started, and every single time I get the same result:

But search results do come up for Cody about the real @danielspengies.  These only show a few RTs, but there have always been some RT results (she might start deleting those too after this, though).

(The reason these or any RTs from Cody don't show up in the widgets is because there is automatically a "-RT" stuck the in code and I haven't been able to remove it or get around it.)

Considering the really strange fact that Cody has never responded to or RTd this fake account as a response, and that this fake account has been used to deceive/attack pretty much all of the 10 people in her troll-scroll, as well as other people she's recently fought with, I think it's Cody.  That's no bombshell, just about everyone else thinks it's Cody too, I'm just giving some details on why people think that (besides the deviousness behind it, I mean - and that aspect of Cody is becoming more clear to people on a daily basis now).

There's also the matter of the followers of the fake @danielspengLes account.  Some of Cody's "friends" are following the account - people who have openly expressed their disgust with the real @danielspengies' "vulgarity", etc.  And since they're "friends" with Cody, and since @danielspengies has his way with her on an almost daily basis, what are the chances they'd be following the account if Cody isn't behind it?  I mean, without her viciously attacking them for following the account...which she does not.  I guess the exact same words and phrases are funny enough for them to follow the fake account, but they disgust these people when the real person says them.  The river of hypocrisy is rising so fast I can't keep up with it.

I'll change the name of this page to "Impersonation" at some point, but will wait a while because it might change the URL.
